OUR 6TH EDITION – THE KINGSWEAR OPEN IS BACK!

The Kingswear Open returns for its 6th edition! Once again, the tournament will feature premier provincial and national-level competition at one of Quebec's most iconic beach volleyball venues, along with a prize money structure unlike any other event in the province.

FOR BEACH VOLLEYBALL FANS

The main event, the Kingswear Open, will take place from July 10–12, 2026.

The best beach volleyball athletes from Quebec and across Canada are expected to compete for a total prize purse of $5,200 and earn the title of Kingswear Open Champion.

The event will feature the top 28 men's and women's teams competing as part of the Volleyball Québec Senior Beach Volleyball Circuit, at the only tournament in Quebec played on a real sandy beach.

Hosted at a venue synonymous with beach volleyball in Quebec, Plage Major in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts has welcomed numerous tournaments and championships over the past 25 years.

UNIQUE KNOCKOUT-STYLE PRIZE MONEY SYSTEM

28-Team Main Draw

Round of 16 Win – $50

Quarterfinal Win – $100

Semifinal Win – $300

Bronze Medal – $200

Gold Medal – $500

The cumulative prize money available to the champions in each division totals $950.

Bounty Bonus Prize

A $250 bonus prize will be awarded to the #1 seeded team in each division.

$50 will be taken from this prize and awarded to any team that wins a set against the #1 seed, up to a maximum of $250 (5 sets) per gender division.

Prize amounts are guaranteed with a full draw.

Prize money may increase as additional sponsors are secured.

Rising Star Award

A $250 bonus prize will be awarded to the highest-finishing Quebec duo aged 20 and under in each gender division.

Prize amounts are guaranteed with a full draw.

QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT FOR THE MAIN DRAW

The Kingswear Open will feature a 28-team main draw per gender.

If more than 28 teams register in a division, qualification matches will be held on Friday, July 10.

The qualifying rounds are expected to begin in the afternoon depending on the number of teams.

Teams that do not advance to the main draw will receive a $45 refund.

A TOURNAMENT FOR YOUTH ATHLETES TOO

In addition to the main event, we are proud to host the Ste-Agathe Youth Open, giving athletes aged 13U to 18U the opportunity to compete on the same site as the senior tournament.

The youth tournament will take place on Thursday July 9.

To participate in this competition, athletes must be registered with Volleyball Québec as competitive players, or be affiliated with their home federation. Membership must be purchased through the Spordle platform when registering for a first tournament on the Quebec Excellence Circuit (CQE).

Please note that admission to Plage Major in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts is subject to an entrance fee at all times, except for registered athletes.
